Call your shot. Hendo or Silva?
The critics are all picking Silva. They say he has better striking and will negate Hendo's ground game with his BJJ.
Hendo is my favorite fighter so I am perhaps biased but I think he wins and I don't think he will struggle all that much in doing it. Henderson has never been knocked out. Big Nog couldn't do it, Wanderlei couldn't do it. Rampage couldn't do it. I think all 3 of those guys hit harder than Spider Silva. Great wrestling with sub defense beats black belt jiu jitsu. Also if Big Nog couldn't sub him in their first fight and it took him into the 3rd round of their second fight to sub him a smaller less talented Silva will not be able to do it. Hendo has good sub defense. He is naturally bigger, stronger, more seasoned, fought better competition. I like Hollywood Dan Henderson in this one. I think Hendo wins this one via TKO in the third. |

I think you need to ask Lesnar about that one...lol!!
I like both fighters, but I think Silva takes this one; he knows how to finish fights. Does he fight in a weak division? I think he does, but you can't discount the fact that he didn't fall victim to the upsets that were the norm in '07. |

No sub defense training.....you can't use that excuse, he's been training with Erik Paulsen for over a year on sub/bjj defense...inexperience is what cost him the fight. He looked pretty good at defending the arm bar attempts, before getting caught with the knee bar.

BJJ is not the be all/end all in MMA, but neither is a wrestler with good sub defense. To be honest, when I usually hear a fighter is a wrestler/grappler, I'm usually thinking....BORING, better prep myself to see 3-5 rounds of lay & pray. |

Look no further than Hughes/Gracie, or Hughes/Penn for textbook examples. When the BJJ guys win its usually with strikes. Other notable bouts, Sherk/Florian, Sherk/Franca, Couture/Gonzaga, Couture/Belfort, Lidell/Babalu, Lidell/Silva. |

Well, well, well.....who'd a thought Hendo would get tapped out? Silva has made the division his playground. Is there any 185'er out there who can give this guy a fight? Please don't throw Lindland's name out there; Woogie would get murdered.

Hendo might make a case for getting caught with the choke and demand a rematch but Silva seemed to be having his way with him in the 2nd round. The only fighter I think might have a shot is St. Pierre. He cuts really hard to make 170. I think he could give Silva a pretty good test though I think Silva beats him as well. I was skeptical of Silva before. I am now convinced. He should be #1 in the P4P rankings. |
