Shiz, just googled this. And it may be in the works. Back in December Gonzaga was reported to have reached out to the Catholic 7 (Big East basketball schools).

Let's say, worst case scenario, Gonzaga and St. Mary's both go to the Catholic 7. That leaves the WCC as a hollow shell of crap (with the exception of baseball).

I think BYU in that case would need to rethink the WCC. For example trying to join the MWC with the exception of football. But I don't think the MWC would allow that. In which case, one wonders if BYU would think about rejoining the MWC in all sports. Essentially deciding that Boise State is its partner/rival.
