Default Weber State game

1. Davies continues to struggle. You look at his line and think it wasn't too bad, 5-11 shooting, 11 points, 3 blocks, 9 rebounds. But this was a team with a weak front court that she should have been dominant against. 4 fouls as well. I think Davies has it in his mind that he is "the man" on this team, and should take a lead attacking role. It's just not working. He needs to step back, take a secondary role, let the game come to him. Clean up on offensive rebounds, kick the ball more. Frankly his low post game has been unwatchable at times.

2. Nate Austin continues to develop quite nicely. 15 points, 9 rebounds on 7-8 shooting. But 0-3 on the free throw line. At this rate, Austin will be the starter and Davies will be the backup. Big test will be against Baylor. Can he come close to holding his own against athletic guys his own size. I haven't seen Baylor play this year, but I think Austin will be significantly overpowered.

3. Zylstra. There will be moments where I think "why he is on the floor" after he throws up a brick. But then before you know it he starts pouring it in and actually playing ok. It's a good sign that he is playing better.

4. Hartsock continues to be the MVP. Enough said.

5. Winder did a great job guarding Weber State's star. He is coming around very nicely.

6. Harrison is still very raw. I think he must lead the team in air balls. At this point we need to consider him as a defensive specialist, because he is so inconsistent with his shot. And he is yet to prove that he can get to the basket. 1-6 shooting last night.

7. Rogers. 15 points in 18 minutes, it was like he could score at will. He is really the only pure scorer on the team, and I hope coach gets him more minutes. One almost gets the impression that he is in Rose's dog house a little bit. I'm still looking at him as the potential breakout player on this team.

8. Abuou. The improvement in his shooting stroke is great news. I would like to see him be even more aggressive on the offensive end.
