I'd have to say the non-enormity of his ego is the reason for his choices. Bonds had a ton of talent also - he wouldn't have hit 750+ homers - but all sources point to his reaction to the McGwire-Sosa run of '98 as the point that lead him down the path of PEDs.

Obviously, we're all on the outside of this one, but Junior's always seemed like a good guy and not driven by the numbers as much as others.

Griffey is one of the last good legitimate people in the most tainted major team sport there is.

Guys like him, Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, Craig Biggio and such are too far and few between the sport that really very few even care about anymore.
