I haven't seen these three. I think "The Apostle" is one Creekster was asking about.

Best scene is when he slaps Dafoe's character in the face and tells him to stop being a sissy.

Lonesome Dove is one of the absolute best movies ever of any genre in my opinion.

Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Angelica Huston, Diane Lane, Robert Ulrich, Danny Glover, Chris Cooper, and of course a token Mormon--Rick Schroeder.

One of my favorite movies. Duval is amazing in it.

Two more for Duval, Colors and Falling Down. Both controversial for their time.

Agree. That was, in my opinion, his greatest film.

They both have some movies they should definitely be embarrassed about. Duvall in "Kicking and Screaming" and Hackman in "The Replacements."

Don't forget "A Civil Action". He played the attorney Jerry Facher. I met the real Facher once. Fascinating guy.

Nice catch on Mockingbird. Not exactly a starring role, though.

Duvall has been around for freakin ever. I think he was in a John Wayne movie 40 something years ago. True Grit?
