Those were the days. My brother and I still quote that song sometimes when we see each other. I love how the last verse of the song is an advertisement for how awesome and revolutionary their new rap + singing sound is. Of course, as far as I know this was the only hit they ever had.

Warren G and Nate Dogg had only one big hit, but G Funk was huge......Dr Dre, Snoop, Tupac, and all the West Coasters from Death Row....loads of hits to be had.

They are talking about the G Funk movement because they were around during the rise of The Chronic and the start of the whole thing. If not for Dre's ascension as a producer, Warren G would have never been able to release his record. But he and Nate Dogg (cousin to Snoop) and other LBC/Compton rappers were all involved and heavily influenced the advent of G Funk.

Yup, and to continue with Warren's 'Family Tree Maker' he was Dre's step-brother.

He had that track about 'Pioneer speakers bumping', but it was never as big as "Regulate".

Whoa did you take a class? Welcome to the board, btw. Your posts evinced far too much thought to belong on CB.

I came for the larger avatars. I am staying for the conversation.

I did not take a class. I simply got jumped into a local Crip set so I could learn more about the G Funk movement. I can honestly say that it was all worth it, now.

He had the "What's Love" that was fairly big. I loved this line:

Cause back before '92 and '93
You didn't give a damn about Warren G
But now that I'm slangin' platinum LP's
All of a sudden you want my N.U.Ts
