Default I love the NY Times' hidden elitist gems

Under an image of Eliot Spitzer at a Nascar race, they have the following caption...

"Eliot Spitzer, the Ivy League Upper East Sider with the reputation for a hyperkinetic braininess, indulged his other side at a Nascar race Sunday."

What does that mean, "his other side"? His "other side" being a dumb-ass- hick-bridge-and-tunnel type? You would have to believe that's what the editors (or caption writer) thinks Nascar fans are. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Everybody knows NASCAR is redneck, though refined folks sometimes like to indulge.

Nascar is a pretty tricky sport to understand.
