I'm very dubious of any claims about all members of a department agreeing about something (like the value of a book, for example). TO be clear: a department of scholars and researchers should have plenty of diverse points of view if its healthy.

Sure, CES is infamous for being a cult of personality, but please. I know a solid book when I read one and Bushman's is solid. Perfect? No, but solid.

FWIW, he never claimed that all or most of the religion dept. didn't like Bushman's book. He said "many."
