Default Next year, point guard

I'm putting all my eggs in the Jimmer Fredette basket.

Fredette
Otero
Cummard
Tavernari
Plaisted

Burgess, Miles, Collinsworth as primary backups

Vuk, Murdock also getting time.

That rotation would be fun.

Sorry, but I have zero faith in any current or future players BYU has to be a good PG for us.

Fredette sounds like a 2 being shoehorned into the 1 because we don't really have a choice.

That's why I'm holding out hope for Jimmer.

Murdock would be abysmal. Sounds like Morgan was a wasted schollie.

This is a repeat performance, BYU not having a good PG.

Hopefully Fredette can fill the role adequately but he's a shoot first point guard right now. In college, they call that the two guard.

HB Arnett said BYU is looking at several other JC pgs, because Morgan looks bad, Yahosh Bonner is one of them.

I have no clue why BYU offered Morgan that early. Some of Rose's recruiting is really strange. He seems to be blessed to be at a time when BYU has some good LDS kids who have no interest in missions. I think Otero is a good find, but both of his pg offers this year have me scratching my head.

Clearly he knows that he better take advantage of the next two years, and an average pg is all he needs.

If he has both Martineau and Morgan on scholarship next year, I will really wonder. He better send Martineau on a mission, do not give a scholie to either MacGregor or Murdock and go find himself another JC PG.

I understand the excitement over Fredette because he is a big scorer and good player. But some things to remember...Ricky Johns played in the Bronx and was the leading scorer in New York City high school hoops. Travis Spivey was putting up a near triple/double (22 points, 9 assists, 8 boards) in JC ball. Both players turned out decent but neither lived up to all of the acclaim. Sorry for being a debby downer.

I really don't know what to think about Martineau or Morgan as I've not seen either of them play and will reserve judgement on the decision of Coach Rose to sign them until I've seen them play at LEAST a half season.

From what I've been told about Martineau he's a Montague clone, but with an actual shot and I don't think that's a bad thing. Montague took a lot of undeserved crap from BYU fans.
