Default Mark Hobbins and Steve Samuelian

have both stepped up to the plate. Donating 25,000 and 100,000 dollars respectively to support Proposition 8.

I want to hear numbers from you CA people. Names and numbers.

You can see them all yourself, including how much each individual donor contributes.

As of 7/31/08, ProtectMarriage.org had raised $2.6M. I expect that to rise significantly in the next reporting period.

The only other Supportive group that matters is, of course, "Bigots against Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" (the 7th one down).

Steve Samuelian sued my brother when my brother left his company to go on his own. My brother ended up having to pay him nuisance value to dismiss the lawsuit. Steve, his brother and his partner also resorted to dirty tactics - this is my brother who is gay, and they tried to bring up his sexual orientation with witnesses (which certainly had no legal significance to the case) in an attempt to discredit him.

Even though he worked closely with my father in the stake there, I am not a fan of Steve Samuelian.

Don Laws is a good man, though.

The less we know about our fellow Mormons, the better.

Well, he is making up for bad karma with this huge donation, at least in God's eyes.

It's funny that one of the largest donors for this cause is someone, who apparently, believes that outting someone as gay is impugning his character. As if being gay means you have bad character. This is the kind of paleolithic thinking that is encouraged by the church (not an exaggeration, see the LDS press release).

If I didn't occasionally come to cougarguard, I don't think I would know anythign about this (meaning Prop 8). I haven't heard a single mention of it in my congregation even once. Of course, I'm late a lot.
