It would seem speaking out in favor of Prop 8 is contrary to what is in scripture. That's pretty clear to me.

I agree with SU; it's a broad principle that doesn't really have much to say about whether the Church should or shouldn't support something like Proposition 8.

You mean like using the government to propagate one church over others? Hardly the same thing as using moral beliefs that have a religious foundation to help mold laws which favor no one specific church over another.
