Indiana Jones IV: don't bother (no spoilers)
In my opinion each one of these films has been worse than the last.
I actually briefly fell asleep in this film. There is no suspense. It feels like one of those 30 year anniversary TV reunion shows. Particularly disappointing is that this film was directed by Spielberg. Yes, Lucas is awful, we all know that, but at least Spielberg can usually put together a popcorn adventure together. How this film got a standing O at Cannes is beyond me. |

Bummer. My wife and I are going out tonight and she wants to see Indy.
I have heard nothing but so-so reviews from people I know. I would rather go see The Cure at the Hollywood Bowl. Maybe I will try to talk her out of this horrible movie.

I was surprised to see the genre was more sci-fi than action/adventure. I did however like the 50's gags.

Although I agree the film should have been more about some mythical Mayan legend instead of ET type solution, I disagree that it was horrible, and for those who enjoyed the first, most, unless you are of Mike's opinion, will enjoy the ride. Harrison Ford does well with the script he had.

I agree with what has been said. So-so movie. If you like Jones, you'll like this one. The plot veers too far into ET territory for my taste, but it's ok.

For me it was a movie that just wouldn't end. The three waterfalls, carrying around ET's brothers skull, the space ship was all just to much for me. It was BRUTAL.

I think people forget how over the top the previous films were. This one was most like Temple of Doom in its unbelievability (remember Indy and co. jumping out of a plane with nothing but a life raft, plunging thousands of feet, slamming into the ground and then shooshing down a glacier with no injuries?). I rank it 3rd of the 4 (Temple of Doom was the worst for me).
