re: Anae's contribution to the team
Someone posted over on CB some offensive stats that somehow "proved" Anae is worth his weight in gold. In my opinion, the improvements were more because of Bronco than anything/anyone else. He changed the mindset of the team and gave the players ownership and accountability over their actions.
The entire team changed and execution, overall, has improved greatly. I think Anae's stats aren't so great if, heaven forbid, gary crowton is still the HC. |

from what i have heard about anae, he is a tough s.o.b. i don't think that bronco is the only reason that the cougs are playing tough and w/ accountability for their responsibilities. still, coach robinson, when he was coaching at unlv, said that kwhit and his dad, fred, were the toughest men he had ever met. i remember watching kwhit and his dad nearly get into a fight on the sidelines one game. i doubt that bronco was tough enough to pick a fight with his old man. |

Considering the fact that Bronco personally stated how little work he does with the Offense, I'd have to say Anae's been the driving force behind the improvement.
BYU's offense has been effective over most of the last three years, and definitely over the last two years. I don't always agree with the playcalls, but that doesn't mean I'm right and Anae's wrong. The stats speak for themselves. |
