The same is true at BYU.

Your more liberal academic types do not think of BYU as an attractive place to work, and then the ones that actually do get hired are probably less likely to be promoted.

BYU is very, very clear that they don't believe in academic freedom. So you self-select for people who either hue exactly to BYU's politics, or don't care about freedom and just keep their mouths shut.

Democrats are clearly the majority in the political science, anthropology, and history departments, and the law school. They reflect nothing of the student body and administration.
