Missions really suck
at least according to "The Mormons". Tal Bachman risked his life on his mission, and even the (I'm guessing) still active RM's whined about how hard it was. The only positive account came from a Church lackey (Jensen), so you can discount his experience.

Did you not catch the "Tal Bachman is a pussy" thread?

What an idiot. It was just a stupid thing to say. I'd say the guy is a little prone to exaggeration. After hearing him talk you'd think he was out sleeping in a germ infested swamp every night, and had alligators chasing his diseased body around all day. For the record I think my favorite part last night was the missionaries in NYC doing street contacts. That was hilarious. I love the one Elder that came back with a huge grin and says to the camera "she told me to leave her alone." He looked shockingly happy, seeing as how he was endangering his very life by going on a mission. Another thing Bachman said that made himself sound like an idiot was that bit at the end of his tirade where he says something like "things that are invented aren't worth dying for." He wouldn't make a great soldier would he? |

Does anyone know if his old man, Randy Bachman, has also fallen into the clutches of the SeattleUte syndrome? Growing up I really liked that he was an active Momron. Does anyone else recall the movie that Randy Bachman made on beahlf of the church ion the 70s? It was pretty cool. I very much hope that his apple fell far from the tree.

The wife and I were watching NBA playoff action last night, so I haven't had a chance to watch any of the documentary yet. Sounds like I've really been missing out.

Amen to that. I haven't had time to watch either.

I used to go there occasionally. Talk about a bitter, obsessed, misearable group. |

I kept waiting for him to segue into how the brute force and diligent conditioning regimen needed for missionary survival unfairly favors BYU football. I frankly think he dropped the ball on that one.
