Default So who's the Cougarguard priesthood teacher here?

http://lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?vg...ontentLocale=0

It's about the nature of God and the Godhead.

The section titled "When we comprehend the character of God, we comprehend ourselves and know how to approach Him," consists entirely of portions of the King Follet Discourse. There should be some interesting discussion tommorrow.

Indeed...there are some real "know-it-alls" in my ward who will bristle at the notion they cannot know or comprehend aspects of our salvation and exaltation in this world. They are so smug, they believe they can know anything if sufficiently embued with the HG.

But the smugness will deny them just that right.

I have to try to teach this - I think we're going to talk about the history of the concept of the trinity, maybe the mystical names of God. That's all I'm going to prepare - then I'll let the pontificators pontificate. I don't know jack about God.

My lesson went really well. General priesthood started late and then we had a new person called and set apart in the EQ presidency. We had ten minutes to discuss the nature and character of God. Hearts were touched, joy was had and we got out on time.

Whenever I'm the PH teacher we always get out 5 minutes early. At least 5. If I've got nothing to say and nobody else has anything to say then I have no problem just ending the lesson - even if it there is still 15 minutes left. This usually happens when you're assinged the "Teachings for our Times" which is just one or two conference talks. You can burn through those suckers in no time.
