Default Chip Brown says A&M to leave Big 12 tomorrow (Tuesday)

http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1257714

Also mentions the possibility of a BYU invite, now that Notre Dame is off the table. I can't believe for a second that Arkansas would want to leave the SEC. And I'm not at all convinced that Pitt is a great choice.

Then again, it is not beyond question that BYU could say no to an invite, if the terms were not favorable. However if BYU says no, it has possibly closed the door on the only BCS conference that would ever be willing to accept it. That means BYU would be relegated to indepedence /cast-off conferences into perpetuity.

NYTimes now reporting that A&M is gone.

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/30/sp...r=3&ref=sports

If A&M announces officially tomorrow, AND if BYU and Big 12 have an agreement in hand, we could hear about it tomorrow.

There's a real "hold your nose" element to the Big 12. I don't think BYU fans will be blubbering and crying Ute fans were (pathetic).

Apparently NYT is now saying that it was a phone call, not a letter.

If there is any school that could F this whole thing up, it is Texas A&M.

However, it's just a matter of timing now. If the President of A&M is not successful in getting a SEC invite, he will be tarred and feathered by the students and alumni.

A&M has officially declared intention to leave. But hasn't left yet.

They look like amateurs after all of this. What a train wreck they've created for themselves.
