No, I'm serious. My visiting teachers came into my house and read me part of the talk and reminded me that being a mother is our primary role and that we need to spend time in the house, not out seeking secular pursuits.

Needless to say, I felt like dirt afterwards... and pulled out my law books... and started studying so that I have some hope of not turning out as condescending and narrow-minded as these women.

Do they ever ask you if you are going to law school (which is what I presume you are doing) for fun? I love hearing that perspective on women's higher education.

NO! They never ask if I'm going to school because I like learning... or the challenge is fulfilling. I'm working for a month in at a Paris law firm this summer- how cool is that?

I'm completely happy for people who get married and have kids right away- if that's what they want and feel is right!

I'm sorry - I know I post some sarcastic things, and I can understand how my post was taken that way. It was NOT intended to be sarcastic in any way. I was being 100% genuine & sincere. I fully support your decision to not have children. I believe that decision belongs ONLY to you, your husband, and the Lord.


I hope that makes sense - I didn't intend any sarcasm in that post at all.

Although, it does exemplify how easy it is to mis-understand the intent of one's words...
