Grades for this far into season
Most underrated player: Unga, bar none.
Most overrated player: Collie and Vakapuna. Best surprise, Max Hall, although he's been up and down. About where they should be: Defense. A little less than hoped for: Passing Offense. Need to pick it up, Passing aspect of Offense. Keep it going, run offense. Potentially better, defensive secondary. Where have you been lately? Tight ends. Thanks for the sudden appearance: Brian Kehl.

I wouldn't say Collie and Fui are overrated. At times they've been disappointing, but I think it's largely due to injury. Fui's ankle injury restricted him early, then he broke his hand. Collie is also playing on a pretty bad ankle and he and Max haven't had their timing down since Tulsa. IMO, if anybody deserves the overrated tag, it's the entire offensive line.

I would go with Fui as a disappointment but Collie has been good, considering first year back from mission at a skill position.

We really aren't trying very hard to get Collie involved, so I'm guessing that the coaches aren't expecting much out of him either. If he were as outstanding as some thought he would be, they'd get the ball into his hands. As it is, he has the same job as Matt Allen, as a possession receiver.
That being said, our lack of screens continues to hurt us, as screens are one of the best ways to get the ball into the hands of your play-makers. |
