Don't get too excited just yet... The only times I am aware of where guerilla warfare eventually failed was where the opposing force used tremendous brutality in crushing the guerillas. The US won't use that kind of force (which isn't a bad thing), so it must find another way to win (even though no other way has proven successful so far).

For me, the only other way to win is through propaganda. I posted on this topic a while back.
