Favorite "Best Picture" from 1988-1997?
IMO this is a much better list than the 1998-2007 crowd.

I gave Braveheart a slight edge over Schindler's list. I am struck by what an infinitely superior group of films this is compared to 1998-2008. I own almost all of those. Very few on the other list.

I got through 20 min of the English Patient before I fell asleep. The next morning I returned it to Blockbuster.

I suffered through the entire thing, as I was battling insomnia the night I saw it and hoped it would be a cure. But, alas, the insomnia won that battle.

Sorry to hear that. I really don't remember the movie much, isn't it just about some dude that got burned really badly? Anything else I should know?

Well, it glorifies infidelity.

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry and his date made out during Schindler's List. Friggin hilarious.

It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when Elaine is shunned for admitting that she hated the English Patient.
