A few fun facts related to my experience:

1. Babies born Dec 9, 2004. By March 31, 2005, I had already changed my 1,000th diaper and stopped keeping track.
2. At the peak of the madness, we were going through about 35 bottles....a day. Keep in mind that little trips out of the NICU need to feed religiously...every few hours at least.
3. At the time, there were only 2 companies that manufacture a triplet stroller. Each one cost between $700-1000.
4. We stopped taking them on errands such as the grocery store or the mall...not because they did not like to go, but because we would be stopped and asked the same set of 5-10 questions, thereby turning a 30 minute trip into a 2 hour trip.
5. I bought Peg baby car seats to bring them home from the hospital. I asked the clerk what colors they had in stock. He said "Black, red, or brown." I said, "okay, I will take one of each." The clerk laughed and said, "Seriously, which one do you want."
6. We were at Disneyland one time and a woman came up and, trying to make conversation, said "I would kill myself if I were you!" I responded, "You should, anyway!"

All in all, it has been a great experience, and quite unique, which suits me fine. we love our little dudes and they have been a source of joy for us and our extended family. They are good little children, too, so we consider ourselves lucky.
Did you really tell her that or is that what you thought and wished you had said. The only reason I ask is that I tell people what I told someone when I have to admit sometimes I just thought it. I am quite sensitive to other feelings.

It will be fun having you on board.

Yes, I really said that.

My circumcision of heart has resulted in a loss of sensitivity...

Well I for one applaud you for actually saying it. Sensitivity is way over rated.

Bravo. I always think of some really good comebacks. About 15 minutes too late.

Well, then you may enjoy other actual insensitive DDD responses to ACTUAL stupid questions or comments:

From women:

Q: How on Earth did that happen? (or some variant)
A: We had sex three times in one night.

Q: Are they natural?
A: More than your breasts, less than a granola bar.

Q: Can I touch them?
A: I was just going to ask you the same thing.

Q: Wow, they must feed ALL the time!
A: They do. Can we borrow one of your boobs?

From men:

Q: Man, I am glad I am not you.
A: *looking at his wife* I feel the same way.

Most of these comments came when I was not in a particular mood to hear them, so admittedly I was a bit snappy.

I usually take the comments in stride. But we get them. Every day. And almost everywhere we go.

In fairness, most people are not used to seeing triplets out and about, esp in their triplet stroller or triplet wagon, so it does attract a lot of attention. Plus, I am an amazing physical specimen, so I am basically asking for paparrazi to stalk me.
