our ward is having a 40 day fast for missionary work. Each family takes a turn fasting. WML is fasting on Thanksgiving.

someone asked in ward council, "who's fasting on Thanksgiving?" WML volunteered. This was all his idea anyway. He later informed his wife of the decision.
YOu can't break up the 40 days man, what are you thinking! of course it's necessary! it's like a chain letter, LOL. |

What about a 40-family fast that took place on a random day of the month, say the first Sunday of the month. I've heard that the idea has worked in the past in various parts of the world. You might also consider a testimony meeting to make it all the more special. Pardon the sarcasm. I'm sure the WML is well-meaning and all, but it sounds a bit much to me. I'm curious to hear how it goes. When are the 40 days up? |

This isn't isolated....
Our ward is doing a 40 day fast also.
But, it doesn't have to be the entire family. It really only has to be 1 person in the family. Thanksgiving? No way.

Why not fast
as the Muslims?
From sunup to sundown, with no meat during that time. I think you can drink, including sports drink. Then forty days ain't so bad.
