Spring Football Game Attendance
The following stats were sent to me by a college friend of mine. I cannot vouch for the truth of them, except that Bama's are correct. If they are true, then BYU looks pretty good. They outdrew a bunch of very high profile schools. Those years of losing left us pretty hungry.
On another note, 90k for a scrimmage? Alabama is a crazy place. That is more than the entire population of Tuscaloosa. Roll Tide! Spring Football Game Attendance --Alabama: 92, 138 --Nebraska: 54,288 --Florida: 47,500 --Texas: 42,500 --South Carolina: 35,153 --Auburn: 31,757 --Texas A&M: 24,212 --Georgia: 21,407 --Clemson: 20,000 --Oklahoma: 21,020 --Iowa: 19,000 --Tennessee: 17,409 --Ole Miss: 17,000 --BYU: 16,752 --Florida State: 15,000 --Oklahoma State: 15,000 --USC: 15,000 --North Carolina State: 14,800 --LSU: 14,375 --Minnesota: 12,500 --North Carolina: 10,000 --Arizona: 9,500 --Iowa State: 7,000 --Miami: 7,000 --Colorado: 5,800 --Michigan: 5,500 --Arizona State: 5,250 --Mississippi State: 5,000 --Texas Tech: 3,000 --Pittsburgh: 2,103 --Arkansas: 2,000 --West Virginia: 1,000 --Virginia: 1,000 |

That may be true. Counts like these are notoriously difficult to get a good headcount. But the newspaper accounts I read said it was in the mid forties.
