My 7 year old son is there tonight with my dad while I watch from home in CA. He called me several times during the women's game, but it's so noisy during the men's game that I couldn't hear a thing that he was saying.
This is his first trip to the Y, at least that he'll remember, and he has had a great day. He gave Cosmo a high five and sat right behind Samuelson earlier and waved to him. The indoctrination has begun.... |

Is this another stiff, Hartford?
Are we waiting until Friday to determine what the quality of the team is?

Teams that win 4 games by an average of 30 points per game don't suck. We're ranked 31st in the country right now. Of course, if we lose to the #6 team in the country, I'm sure that will somehow relegate us to a sub #100 team in your eyes.

I expect to lose to a number six team without knowing more, but something in me keeps nagging that the team might throw a few surprises. One reason, in seasons when BYU has toured abroad, they come into the season with more continuity and confidence. I could be wrong, so thus I ask.

I've watched the first 10 minutes of the Hartford game, and I have to say I am impressed. Call me crazy, but I don't think it's out of the question that we win a game in the dance.

Tonight's game was my first look at the team, and I was very impressed. They took a little bit to get going and slacked a bit in the 2nd half when they got up by 30 or so, but that's forgivable. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do against a real team. We'll be ranked next week if we beat Louisville, although I wonder how likely that is.
