Serving others isn't for everyone. Obviously. Trust me, I'll bet you'd be hard-pressed to find a Bishop who calls his experience "banal".

Yeah, I know. My dad was called to be bishop at age 69. He'd been avoiding the call playing workaholic. He tells me ghastly war stories I'd rather not hear. When my sister delivered severely traumatized quadruplets he couldn't make it to the hospital. Tithing settlement.

Still, not everyone gets to be bishop. Many wind up, say, in smelly 100 degree tents contending with water mocasins, swamp rats, and little ill-behaved ingrates.
