Default Do people with busy jobs get a free pass

in your ward, when it comes to time-consuming callings?

E.g. first-year lawyers, brokers, resident doctors

IMO, if you have purchased a newish BMW, your "free pass" just expired.

I believe in my ward I'm now the only one who does. YM is more time consuming than I realized before I started back in school, so I requested to be released in order to fulfill work and school obligations. The bishop agreed that it was necessary and now I'm on the activities committee, something which is great because I can pretty much tell the others that I can't make it to the activities but can help out with a bit of planning if I have the spare time.

If I had known this would happen, I would have chosen to be a career student.

I take it you just bought a BMW huh?

BTW half my ward is residents and 45% of the others work for GM or Ford as designers or engineers. Kind of hard to break into the social cycle when you don't work with the other people in your ward (and they do)

Not in my ward. Almost the opposite. Seems all the busy people have busy callings.

A free pass from whom? If you mean in the calling department isn't it just a pragmatic decision to give more responsibility to those who are more likely to be willing and able to fulfill the same? Maybe the busy people just turn the callings down.

Our ward operates on the STP program. Same Ten People. Doesn't seem to matter how busy you are.

Our last Bishop was a very busy Interventional Radiologist. He always found the time to fulfill his responsibilities as Bishop. I think successful people often have the best time management skills.
