More of an acquaintance, really. I was browsing through the website and found a guy who coached/managed my old city league softball team. I've known him for a couple of years now. He's one of the nicer guys that you'll meet.

Convicted of "Continual Sexual Abuse of a Child". No date of conviction was given.

My question is: Do I owe it to a couple of my buddies who still play on the team to let them know what I found?

YES. Anyone who has sexually abused a child deserves no breaks or second chances. If I ruled the world, punishment for sexual abuse of a child would be immediate death by the most painful means possible.

I know someone who was listed as a pedophile for ten years because at age 21 he had a 16 year old girlfriend and she convinced him to run away with her. The 16 year old looked like she was a 21 year old streetwalker and the 21 year old guy mentally was no older than the girl. Not very bright for the guy, and he deserved to be busted, but a bummer that he's listed as a pedophile for ten years.

Have you ever gone to one of those websites that has maps of all registered sex offenders? I don't have any links, but I'm sure Google can work its magic and lead you there. It's freaky to see how many are nearby, and to think those are just the registered ones.

My cousin is a registered sex offender because he was 19 and his girlfriend was 17 and he got her pregnant, served 4 months in jail for statutory rape.

Ruined his life, he was in the Army and got kicked out, had to pay about 15k in restitution, horrible situation.
