As queasy as Mormonism-related films usually make me, my favorite film I saw this year was /New York Doll/.

1. King Kong

2. The Constant Gardener

3. Narnia

4. Cinderella Man

5. Batman Begins

6. Walk the Line

7. A History of Violence

8. Revenge of the Sith

Now that I reflect on it, great year for movies. All of the above are ones I will buy.

Haven't seen the movie, but I'm guessing once I do, it'll further support my assertion that Peter Jackson is this generation's George Lucas. Everyone thinks he's the greatest thing ever right now, but in another 20 years people will start asking why anyone thought any of his movies were ever any good.

You don't have to agree with me now -- just write it down and then think about it 20 years from now and see if I'm right.

(PS, Don't get me started on LotR:RotK.)

LOL, i was laughing at that part as well. But i'm a succer for a popcorn movie (which this was all it was).

I haven't been to many movies (love having two kids under two) so Mr. and Mrs. Smith was super.

but Batman Begins is by far my favorite of the year.

I think the theatrical release was pre-2005, but the best film I saw last year (DVD) was "In America."

If that don't touch you, you ain't human.
