I didn't know that. It's unusual for a coach to find himself in that situation in this day and age, given what Bronco has done.

Imagine the rage if his contract were to be extended during this off-season, with a significant buy-out.

Given the General Authority-type stature needed to be coach at BYU (something that Bronco has seemed to encourage), there is essentially no one else to take the job.

It's not even clear to me who could replace Doman as OC.
