Default Anybody worried about Tulsa?

I'll be honest, I'm a touch worried about this game. I think BYU should beat Tulsa, but I have bad memories of 2005 when we blew the TCU game and then rolled over in San Diego. Last year Bronco did a good job of helping the team overcome the dissapointment of Arizona and BC, but the games afterward were both home games.

I think we have a better team than Tulsa, but I don't think we can afford to give up 3 turnovers and 100 yards in penalties and win comfortably. That has to stop.

As an aside, FM made a very nice point today on Cougarboard.

Tulsa should be respected by the fans. We're not good enough that W's, especially on the road, are a given.

I am a little concerned. I still haven't watched the Arizona game, but I hear they were pretty bad, and UCLA looked good, but BYU didn't do anything productive the first half of that game. They were executing poorly, and I'm sorry, but what is the deal with our punter? Is he related to someone on the coaching staff or something? Is that how he got a scholarship? He's an embarrassment, and unless he starts figuring out how to actually punt the ball like a football player, and not some random fan participating in a half-time competition, I won't discount the idea that he could cost us a win or two.

I almost would have been concerned if BYU had won, but now they will want to get to winning again, and our secret weapon, Babs, will be there. With Batgirl on our side, we can't lose.

We should be worried, but it's tough to be. They are a really inexperienced team, and we whipped them badly last year. They are starting 4 brand new players on the OL. All their WRs are new. Their top RB tore his knee up. Their DL is slow and unathletic. How don't run right over these guys, I have no idea.

If they pull the upset, it will be because their QB is really good and they have 2 weeks prep, but they are stepping way up and we are stepping down. If we play hard, I don't see this being a close game.

I'm most interested to see whether we we can put together mistake free drives. I'm not concerned about our defense. They did, however, play us tough for a while last year. I think we'll win handily.

If you are not worried, there is some easy money for you available at your local sports book. The spread is only 6.5.

All this talk about us crushing them might be a little premature.

At this point, the only team that concerns me is our own. Only WE can beat ourselves.

I am not worried about Tulsa.

I think this team has gotten a taste of winning and they aren't going to want to go without that taste for long. I think the way they've played in both games so far, they know how to win and are talented enough to do so.

I'm not so sure we'll blow Tulsa out, but I think it is a game we should be favored in to win.
