Sheide perhaps, Carter no. Carter was under Tommy Hudspeth and there was no guarantee Lavell was going to succeed when he got the job. Nielsen was a far better QB than either however.

IMO, Giff is very deserving....
I spoke with Giff the day after the announcement came that his #14 was being retired as well. He is nothing short of ecstatic.
He is very deserving, he probably would have won the Heisman had he not gone down with a serious knee injury. The player that should have had his # retired before anyone else is Jim McMahon. |
