Lance to run Boston in April
http://dailyviews.runnersworld.com/2...ficial-la.html
Should be interesting. I know he really struggled with shin splints when he was training for the NY Marathon. I'm curious to see what kind of a time he can drop if he's able to avoid the same problems this time. One question; the article states he ran a 2:46 in NYC, (I remember it as him just squeaking in under 3 hours) is that 2:46 correct? |

Did you really just play the "why does anybody care about (insert subject)" card? wow. just. wow. Waters, this is an internet message board - you even created it. On internet message boards, you'll tend to see a variety of subjects discussed. Some folks care about the subject on hand, others don't. If you don't care, you don't need to comment. It's a fairly simple concept, actually. |

Since when did a 2:40 marathon become slow. That would have won the gold metal at the 1924 Olympic games. I'm also guessing he's not spending a lot of time training for these marathons.

I actually expected him as a world class endurance athlete. My brother, at a considerably older age has run his times, and if I devoted myself I wouldn't be far behind. So I'm kinda surprised Lance isn't faster. Cuz I'm nowhere near the endurance athlete he is on the bike.

But recall that his freak phsyiology included short thighs and long calves that helped him with leverage on the bike but that didn't help him so much in running. Besides, no ome said that he was having aerobic problems runniong, just that he wasn't so fast. He was a freak for the bike, as his body was designed almost perfectly for that sport.
