Is it verboten to talk about temple interior decorating and design? Cause I have a few things to say.
The newer mini temples remind me a lot of Marriott Hotels...same style of carpet, furniture, etc.

The only thing missing is the free continental breakfast.

If you wanted to increase temple attendance amongst the LDS, offer a rewards program. If you reach Exec Platinum, you earn access to the continental breakfast at the temple. It is amazing what people will do for free hard-boiled eggs and orange juice.

I bet they'd have more success with pastry trays.

Nonetheless, this is pretty exciting stuff.
This is what I've heard as well.

Why?

Because growth in the LDS church has been slow in Italy, though there has been a rather substantial increase over the last few years. Last I heard was that there are now 6 stakes in Italy. Not a lot, but considering that there was only 1 stake when I was there, the growth has been substantial.

Also, the Italian saints have had to travel to Switzerland to attend the temple. In the south, they would plan 1 temple visit each year. Many members expressed that if there were a temple in a more accessible spot - as in Rome where it is more centralized - they would be able to attend the temple quarterly.

My question to you is how is it not exciting?

I agree. My goodness, how could this not be exciting?

I bet the food at the Rome temple cafeteria will be AWESOME! Pasta, wine, etc...

Also, this will probably be the only temple in the world where the temple workers smoke cigarettes. Maybe Tokyo temple, too.

That's disappointing. There were rumors that it was going to be built near Valley Forge.

Traffic in downtown Philly is atrocious. Valley Forge is much more accessible and parking won't be an issue there.
