Speaking of concerts
What was the first concert you ever attended?
Mine was the Motor City Madman - Ted Nugent at the Salt Palace, 1978.

Beach Boys...I believe it was in the Salt Palace back in the real early 80s. My parents took me. I was probably 6 or 7 years old and I thought the Beach Boys were the mo-shizzle.

I think mine was a beach boys concert as well. They played a show down at the FBI and some of my parents friends who were in the FBI invited us to go...it was either that or a James Taylor concert. UtahDan might have a better memory than me on this one.

A Neil Diamond show at the Salt Palace when I was in the second grade. Neil was a such a stud when he had us all stand on our seats and put our hands together for a rousing rendition of "Comin' to America!"

Back in the day, many of my friends had their first concert experience when NKOTB came to town. I would like to say I was too discerning to attend such an event, but really I just wasn't allowed. So I believe my first concert was instead Michael W. Smith.
Further evidence as to my non-discerning taste at the time: the first album I ever owned was Paula Abdul Forever Your Girl. |
