Default What type of Mormon family do you belong to?

Discuss immediate and extended family.

Mostly active on my side, semi-active on my wife's side.

Converted when I was 15 ... no other members in my extended family. My wife's immediate family joined the church when she was 6. Her parents are semi-active, her brother is active. No other members in her extended family either.

There are antis in both of our extended families who are cordial but distant.

There wasn't really a poll choice that fit so I didn't vote.

I don't think anyone comes from a family that's the same both intermediate and extended.

Both my wife and I come from very orthodox intermediate families but both familes are a mixed bag when you go very far up and acros the family tree.

Ours involves two differing trees.

From my side the tree starts with my parents and myself.

From my wife's side, adopted, she hails back from her mother to pioneers and from her father as a baptism for marriage only type.

Do we put Seattle down as coming from Mullahs since he's bugged about his disaffection?

Both my parents and my wife's are 1st generation converts. My wife's grandmother was so upset at her sons conversion that she moved to Austria and lived in a Catholic convent. A lot of her extended family has since joined the church as have mine.

My father was in the Bishopric or HC and my mother was always in some presidency my entire youth. We were a very quiet Mormon family that cared for each other but our emotions were kept to ourselves.

After my mission I went and lived with an uncle and his family for the summer. They were semi active where Sunday could mean a day at church or one on the lake. They were very emotional and much more vocal in their feeling toward one another both good and bad.

I always thought a mix of the two would be ideal. I should have been more diligent with scripture study and FHE but I sure my boys would say I've never put a church job before them. They are both planning on missions so I consider that a success.

I screwed up. I meant Mullah for the last option of the extended family.
