You've heard how grateful Iraqis are for the freedom afforded them by the military effort.

Well, a new monument has been erected in Baghdad, out of gratitude.

That is, out of gratitude to the Iraqi reporter who remains in prison after throwing a shoe at President Bush last month.

Looks ugly as sin to me, but I suppose if the shoe were on the other foot...

What they don't tell you is the shoe's funding was donated by George Soros.

Of course not. They want you to believe that war-ravaged orphans provided the funding. Because, you know, orphans tend to sponsor large-scale works of public art.

It hurt less than nephrolithiasis, which means that it possibly could have hurt more than childbirth. But probably didn't.
