Default you're starting to make this look too attractive

let me get this straight,

a guy fools around, gets his hands slapped, can't hold a time consuming position, but ultimately gets back in full favor?

Is that what you're saying?

When I was a missionary in Arkansas, I met a guy who was 20 and had been ex'd twice. The first time he was ex'd was at 14. I don't know what a 14 year old has to do to get ex'd (I didn't ask him about it) but that's what the North Little Rock stake decided to do.

He was rebaptized at 19, and ex'd a year later for living with a girl and having a sexual relationship with her, while being separated from his wife, his divorce not being final yet.

Default I know someone who was disfellowshipped. . .

After the council rendered its verdict, they instructed him on the new limitations: couldn't take the sacrament, couldn't give prayers, couldn't have a calling, etc. Then the bishop says, "But you can continue to pay tithing." He said it felt they were saying, "we don't really want anything to do with you for a year, but we still want your money." He was pretty put off by it, but didn't say anything.

I don't really understand the point of disfellowship. Is it sort of like "we're going to give you a taste of what it would be like to be excommunicated, by not allowing full participation"?

Occasionally someone will be asked to pray and then say "no" or "I can't." In some ways it is courageous that these people show up to meetings given that sort of thing.

I hope I am released from my calling before I have be involved in a council or I hope the exec. secre. doesn't have to attend.

Default it's at the Bishop's discretion but

ward clerk is the one who is supposed to be there.
