They are basically sending work parties from all over Texas (and likely elsewhere) to help out in Louisiana. Basically a one weekend deal.

Our ward has been asked to provide 15 men to work a weekend (leave Friday evening, arrive Sat. morning, return Sunday night).

Complicating factor in that is 15 is our avg. attendance in Elder's Quorum.

In my case I'm scheduled to work that weekend (they only gave us 2 weeks notice), so I'll have to try and get out of work. There will be a significant opportunity cost of going, if I can arrange it.

I'll be bringing my two essential tools: Husqvarna chainsaw and Glock.

Can you bring a Glock on a church outing? Or will this be a concealed carry?
