Default First hard climbing ride of the year

and Viking is lightyears ahead of me. I didn't know a bike would stay up if you're only going 5.0 mph. They're going to send me out to pasture if I keep this up.

5? That's nothing. We have climbed as slow as 2.8 on the tandem before.

Lots of standing.

How can you spin that slowly? I was in my 23 and I thought I would fall over so I bore down and increased the cadence. Most of the climb was in the seven to eight though on less steep parts I did better.

RC Vikings is on a distinguished road
Default

Las Vegas a high of 59 degrees, Rexburg a high of 28 degrees. Every winter day i lose just a little bit more to you warm climate guys. I got so sick of training indoors that today i broke out the mountain bike. So risking life and limb I battled the snow and ice and got in 9 miles outside. The road by the temple is getting enough traffic that it was clear from snow but wet so I went over there and rode up that hill three times and one other small loop. In spite of being covered in mud and frostbite over 90% of my body it felt good to get out and the only reason i was out was because in the back of my mind I knew Arch would be doing some mountain climb today to get ready for Lotoja.

It was 29 when I started my ride, does that count?

I have slowed my cadence too much riding in the cold.
