Truthfully, I really can't see what you guys are getting so worked up about. I am a donor to both sites and have never been banned from either one. I find CB is getting tedious and repetitive and shallow and so I spend less and less time there. I think this is more a result of the format and the sheer number of posters than it is a nefarious plan by El Jefe. But the whole angst over the board and the trolling and the appeals and so forth, very boring and very silly, IMO.

Agreed. I think both sites provide a service and are quite fun for me in differing ways. This site offers a better opportunity to exchange ideas and do so in more of a friends at a restaurant setting than exchange in Priesthood meeting. CB provides a more safe environment.

I am hopeful as the football season gets closer and closer posts about football will pick up. I have seen them do so lately.

I have never once had an appeal work, I only get a reply maybe 1 out of every 10 times. When i do get a reply its a copy and paste of the rules or a comment saying something like "those are the rules"

FWIW, I really enjoy having Cougarboard around. For one, I've got a 10 year old boy who is just beginning his journey down the path of BYU fandom, and I have no problem at all with letting him sit down and read CB, because I know the vulgarity that is so prevalent on many college sports bulletin boards just isn't there. Is it fairly asinine most of the time? Of course, and I've done my part to add to the stupidity.

The moderation at times is over the top, but whatever. I did three months in the hole for the whole Teenage Dirtbag thing, and I had it coming. It's not like there aren't thousands of other message boards where you are free to post whatever you want about whatever you want.

I think CG has a place, too. Many of the topics covered around here are of no concern to me, but I like the fact that there are quite a few people who are into the same kinds of activities I'm into, and posting about it here has been a pleasant surprise.
