Default One of Nebraska's electoral votes is within 530 votes of going to Obama.

Republicans lost in VA, they will lose NC, MO may go either way, they lost Indiana, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico, they lost Iowa, NH, Ohio, PA and Florida. Now they may even lose one of Nebraska's electoral votes. How do you patch this mess up if you are a Republican? The South, Midwest and West are turning on you, and fast.

There is a simple solution for the Repubs, but they're not willing to do it:

Quit trying to find something in common with the left to attract more voters.

Reagan conservatism was successful because it laid out exactly what it stood for and allowed folks to decide for themselves if they wanted to be a part of it and it worked.

Let's hope that because the Repubs lost these states, it doesn't mean the USofA lost.

BTW......How often do you agree with your wife on issues? Yet, when it comes to politics, if you have a D or R in front of your name, you agree with all sorts of people you don't even know.

How is the map from yesterday significantly different from 1992 or 1996? Don't read more into it beyond it being a comfortable victory for Obama. Clinton beat Dole by a more comfortable margin.

The worst financial crisis in decades culminated at a perfect time for Obama (mid September). George W. Bush has been a colossal failure in many respects and he's loathed by a ton of conservatives. This is more of an indictment of George W. Bush than an endorsement of core Democratic ideas.

The conservative movement and GOP will regroup and be just fine. Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi will make the case quite effectively for a GOP comeback in 2010.

And fast, he says! Heh.

What Cali would love to see is Chicken Littles running here and there. Must be quite vexing that we're not all falling on our swords in despair.

Bush had a very divisive style. If you didn't agree with him on something you were unpatriotic and hated America. Maybe that was Karl Rove telling him what to say. Who knows. If you voted against the patriot act it must be because you favor the terrorists. If you don't vote for the bailout bill it must be because you don't care if we have another great depression. Such drama with every single issue. I'm sick of it and so are a lot of others who might vote republican if they felt there was any room for a libertarian in the GOP. Hard core party loyalists will still be in denial. It's going to take at least 4 more years before they figure out they've alienated so much of their former base of economic libertarians.

But you are! McCain's people (read Romney fans) are already blaming Palin's people and vice-versa.

You are apparently a presidential campaign neophyte.
