10 great Seattle reastaurants
This isn't a ranking. It depends on my mood. But on special occasions or with an expense account, I usually go to one of these. All on this list are expensive.
Waterfront--gourmet seafood in front of a wall of glass and a panorama of Puget Sound Campagne--Continental Euro in the Market El Gaucho--Broilded steaks, seafood, and exotic meats in a dark, speakeasy-like atmosphere (best steak tartar in town) Wild Ginger--Famous, pioneering Pan-Asian restaurant Canlis--Superb steaks and seafood in a gorgeous Frank Lloyd Wright-like venue overlooking Lake Union; the granddaddy of them all Metropolitan Grill--Like El Gaucho but more British pub house Rover's--Continental Euro in an unremarkabe atmosphere, but the food is worth it Ray's--Literally hanging out over the Sound; one of the oldest favorites; invented Kasu cod, my favorite fish dish Harvest Vine--wine bar and tappas; I wish they had tappas like this in Spain; unbelievable and unforgettable! Nishino--exquisite sushi and huge menu of superb exotic Japanese dishes P.S., sadly, my erstwhile favorite, Mistral, just closed down.

I was reading Zagnut's Seattle guide and most of those are highly rated.
I would be really excited to try the tapas place. Do any of these have a prix fix or a Chef's taster option? What are we talking sans alcohol? $100 per person?

Great list. Thanks SU.
My question is the same ad TripleD's. What's the average a person can expect to spend for just one sans alcohol?

You should check what band is playing at the Triple Door, downstairs at the Wild Ginger. It's a cool place with the WG menu available. Look at the web page because I can't do it justice explaining it.

I like the name "Triple Door." It is a glorification of their failure to construct a single door naturally.

He says as he half closes his eyes, raises a very long and thin cigarrette to his lips, pinky extended, turns his head slightly away, takes a deep drag, and then blows it out as if he can't be bothered with everyone else's inferiority.

I have only eaten at The met, so I will definitely not go there (although it was great). I have 2 nights, so hopefully I can hit two of these.

Hateful. Typical. An apostate's life is hard.

I think he was shooting more at arrogance than apostasy.
