I hate that the illegals haven't made their way to Memphis. And it's unfortunate that just about every person who works in the food industry in Memphis has been taught to hate white people.

There is no sensible way to account for the undocumenteds without some form of amnesty and then a workable program to have sensible immigration. However, that would require coordination and neither party will have that.

In a sense, I can't see the Church taking any other position other than one of love and understanding.

I do hate the illegals that commit crimes.
that live off of us taxpayers. Pay your own way; welcome to those who are already here. BTW.........40% of the 'uninsured' are non-citizens. So this universal healthcare theory will further support them without any of their skin in the game.

Stop future incursions though.

The real issue is that illegal immigrants provide very low-cost labor for businesses, and the current administration is completely in bed with business interests. That's why the immigration laws aren't being enforced - the special interest business lobby.
Agreed. Wanting immigration laws enforced does not equal hatred.

A huge problem. Illegal immigrants are committing a grossly disproportionate amount of crime in this country. It's certainly true in Utah, where the illegal immigrant crime has really degraded the quality of life in many areas of the SL Valley.

I agree 100%. Very well-said.

(Sorry for hurting your position, SoCal.)

Well, many of them do anyway. There are also many that work for cash wages and never use a fake number. However, the notion that Illegals pay no taxes is false in many instances because illegals never claim a return on the withholdings that their fake social security numbers generate. These illegals with fake social security numbers pay medicare, social security and have income taxes withheld. The companies that hire these people with fake social seurity numbers pay the employer portion as well.

Maybe this is true in slc, I have no idea, but this is not true in SoCal. The majority of crimes are committed by low income minorities but not overwhelmingly illegal minorities.

Is this really true? Are there statistics somewhere to bears this out? I am not saying it is NOT true, just wondering if someone has done a study on this.

There's a pretty good taco place on Summer ave. between White Station and Mendenhall. I don't remember the name and I don't know if the owners are legal or illegal but the food was good and cheap and we were always the only non Spanish speakers there.
