Default Mormons v. Drug Cartels

Mike -- I thought you'd find this interesting. I imagine if you had been Benji, you would have been blasting away through the upstairs window, killing off the invading drug gang one by one. And I would have been cheering for you.

A few thoughts:

(1) Why didn't Benji own any guns? If he had been so critical of the drug gangs, then he had to know he had a large target on his chest.

(2) Maybe he did own guns, but had them hidden, and he didn't have time to get to them, and his relative lied about him not having a stash of weaponry.

(3) Gadianton Robbers: The drug cartels' forefathers. Must be the geography -- they spring from the ground like water from the rocks.

(4) Mexico is in a world of hurt -- they've been too distracted by the telenovas and in the meantime national gangs have lulled them into imprisonment.

(5) What's the solution? Stop the drug war, let the cartels reap their billions, and live in peace with them? It's the americans who are getting coked out -- let America die a slow, drug-induced death. The other option: a militarised state.
