I arrived a little late to the game (not my fault). Score was something like 18-6 TCU ahead. I saw a sputtering clueless BYU team throwing up airballs and playing matador defense. I thought, this team does not look good at all.
Boy did that turn around quick. Jackson Emery was esp. impressive. Jimmer gets into the lane effortlessly, slicing through it like butter. Loyd is going to only get better. I haven't been following the team, so I didn't realize that Miles is now not in the rotation. He got garbage time in the last 2 minutes. He is terrible. I believe there were more BYU fans than TCU fans there. I don't know if you could tell on TV. BYU fans went crazy when BYU hit 100 points. For a blowout, it was a fun game. It was also fun for me because I sat next to my friend/acquaintance who played for BYU. Well, was on the roster for a year. Didn't actually play I don't think. He's a great ballplayer. Fun to get his insights. He says Cleveland was a bad coach, not honest with his players, and lazy. "Everyone hated him." Pointed out the Bobik situation in particular. |

One striking thing about the game was the utter absence of any tcu students.
Both the espn and fort worth star telegram articles mention that the byu support was more numerous than the tcu support. |

Do you attribute that to the mediocrity of the team or just general apathy toward athletics at TCU?

One more comment. My first time to see Haws play. Ever.
I can't really comment, as he was largely invisible on the floor. Didn't seem to contribute much, so I got no sense that he is some incredible player. Which he might be. But he showed no evidence of it. |

He is solid, not spectacular right now because his shot isn't falling.
