That's a good policy, in my opinion. Whenever you find something that seems interesting to you, it is a good idea to check it for leaks.

And why on earth wouldn't we want to know about the origins of the Book of Abraham? Our church rises and falls based on the origins of the Book of Mormon, and we dedicate considerable amounts of research and teaching to the origins of the Bible and the Doctrine and Covenants. Why not treat the Book of Abraham similarly? The more we understand about where it comes from, the more likely we are to understand what it says.
