Dialogue and Sunstone
I'm checking the "yes" box on this one, but am looking for a thoughtful discussion.

This is not very thoughtful, but for someone that doesn't read, it is the best I could do.

My guess is that the outlet these mags provide lowers the rate of apostasy. Critique is always good. My mantra.

The net effect is good, although I don't read them very often any more.
For those who wish to review matters critically, it is good to have an outlet that isn't purely apologetic, nor purely "anti", so the net effect is good. As far as one's spirituality is concerned, I have found some who lose all track of any element of faith, by trying to explain every inconsistency. Ultimately intellectual reconciliation will only come in the next life, not this one. For those persons, those mags could become a stumbling block, but I'd rather have them, than not have them. Critical analysis is good; it's to what use one puts it that matters.

I read in Wikipedia that it was Sunstone that arranged to have the B of A scrolls translated by reputable experts. I didn't know that, or even that Sunstone has been around that long.

I remember reading it in the eighties. How much before that I don't know.
Apparently the first issue was published in winter, 1975. http://www.sunstoneonline.com/magazi...ble/Issue1.asp Dialogue Journal, 1966. http://www.dialoguejournal.com/

I am guessing they are good, but haven't ever really read them.
