Default Anyone here reload?

I'm thinking about getting into this hobby.

Without doubt, on a dollar/hour basis, my time is better spent at my profession, than reloading, if this is about money.

But reloading is its own art form, with its own rewards. It turns out that reloaded cartridges--because you can control all aspects of the round--are more accurate. And often go faster.

Most of the equipment lasts long enough that you will never need to buy replacements, during your lifetime.

I don't, but I intend to start at some point. I'm saving all of my spent .223 cartridges.

Then you should look into the Hornady Lock n Load AP. Auto-progressive press.

Through Dec. 31, 2009 they have a rebate program where they will send you 1000 free bullets (you pay for shipping).

Midsouth shooters charges about 368 + shipping for the press. The bullets are worth about 300, so it's a pretty good deal.

It's what I did. I got an even better deal by buying my press off of ebay using 20% off from bing.com.

I don't know if they will renew the promotion or not for 2010.

And yes, I would have picked this press over the Dillon 550, even w/o the free bullets. 5 stations is big.

My dad, two brothers and I are talking about going in on one together. Keep it at dad's since we all live close. I'd always assumed we'd get a Dillon, but the Hornady looks good. Reviews are very positive. Thanks for the tip.

My free bullets are coming on Monday. 1000 of the suckers. It's goingto cost a lot for me to turn those into bullets, but over time, it's going to cost a lot less than buying them new. Assuming I don't blow myself or my gun up.
