Starting work at the crack of 11 today, eh creek? I like the way you think.

I just got back from a 50 mile ride in time to start work at 1:00. Two of my riding buddies also had the morning off, so we had a nice little group. It was a bit windy, but overall it was a gorgeous day for a ride.

Now its time to actually get some work done before picking up those freeloading missionaries for dinner tonight. But its my favorite meal (Chicken Parmisian) so I suppose I can endure a little guilt trip and some awkward silence for a hour or so.

This will tell you how pathetic I am: I'm still bugged by my boy's little league team losing last night. My son pitched three innings, gave up one run and struck out 6. In the last inning, the other team had a runner on 1st and 3rd and baited our catcher into throwing to 2nd on a steal, allowing the kid on 3rd to score, literally 30 seconds after I had told our catcher not to throw the ball to 2nd. Us coaches were way more annoyed than the kids were. I need to get a life.

As in Kaysville Utah? What's going on? When did this happen?

I rode my bike to work (6 miles) then ran out of work. I rode all the way back home, worked in the garden and then rode back to work my other job. It's been a good day for that to happen as the weather is perfect.

Today went even worse, as I had a terrible game shooting the rock. At least at the end I hit a couple of threes, and a short jumper. One of my worst outings.

It is snowing in Idaho today. Monday was 82. Thursday is a snowstorm. Dry farmers will all be millionaires if price of wheat stays up.

AFter dealing with irrational people all around me most of the day, I am now about to change into my far too tight lycra shorts and my large and 'slimming' t-shirt and ride my bike home. On the way I iwll play havoc wiht the old ladies and little kids on the bike path, passing them all at an alarming rate of speed, screaming "on your left" at the last possible second, thereby demonstrating my superior fitness. I iwll call out "okie-dokie Hyrum" to every recumbent I see and cackle to myself after doing so. I iwll convince myself that becaseu i can still roll at 20 or more on the flats the fact that I can only muster single digits on even the smallest hills is misleading and I am really just THAT close to being fit again. I iwll arrive home sweating like a dog and so everyone will leave me alone until I am no longer an incandescent red, which suits me fine.

Nothing like a self-delusional bike ride to wrap a work day.

My day sucked, but that's the norm. The redeeming highlights of the day were coloring with the munchkin, checking the mail (I've been pre-approved!) and brownies-n-milk.
